What Is A Squidoo Lens?

Perhaps you have heard that Squidoo is a website that allows writers to make money from their content? That is true, but what is a Squidoo lens? Basically, a lens is the term Squidoo uses to describe a page on their site.
The pages on Squidoo. 's website are built from modules. There are over a hundred different types of modules available. They can be used to add all kinds of content to the lens. When you build a lens on Squidoo, you pick the types on modules that are needed to display the type of information you want to use on your lens.
There are content modules that can be used to display text, photos and videos to the Squidoo lens. These are the basic modules that most Squids use to build the content part of their lenses. However, there are other modules that can allow the writer to easily add relevant content, such as the Wikipedia module or the Washington Post module.
Besides the text and other content modules, there are several different modules on Squidoo that can be used to generate income. These modules include eBay, Amazon and other income-generating modules. The person who builds the lens gets half of the revenue from these types of modules and Squidoo keeps the rest. When you earn money on Squidoo, you can keep it for yourself or choose a charity to donate it to.
Squidoo displays Adsense on each lens on their site. The money generated from the Adsense ads is not paid directly to the writer of the lens. Instead, Squidoo pools half of the money earned from Adsense and distributes it among the writers who have lenses on Squidoo. This is done to keep people from clicking on the ads on their own pages to earn money from the ads. This would violate Google. 's terms of service for Adsense.
So that. 's what a Squidoo lens is. Basically, it is a web page that you build using modules of text and information that are all centered on the same theme. You can earn money from your Squidoo lenses, and if you have enough of them, you might even be able to give up your day job someday. But if that. 's your goal, you better be prepared to build a lot of lenses.
